Create a Card

With the many options available today for holiday and greeting cards, I decided to consider my options before buying traditional Christmas cards. I found that I could create a card online that really captured the holiday spirit in a very personal way. I love to draw, and I would typically create a card out of a drawing I made, but I decided to use a picture of my daughter for our holiday greetings this year.

We simply took photographs of our daughter with our digital camera. After downloading the pictures on to the computer, we chose our favorite pose. We decided to create a card using a picture we took ourselves rather than using a professional photographer because we wanted to add that personal touch to the card. A professional is a great option for many people, but we wanted to include our home in the holiday card.

I tried to create a card using the traditional format found in the traditional greeting card, but I ran into complications. I had difficulty centering the picture on the front of the card and I found it nearly impossible to center the message inside the card even when using a pre-formatted layout. I was too frustrated for words so I decided to create a card using a different approach and the results were fantastic.

I did use the same picture my husband and I chose for the holiday card I was originally going to make, but I sent the picture to a photo processing center. The photo processing center allowed me to quickly download the photograph on to its site. I had a number of greeting card styles to choose from and I was pleased to find one that fit the style and colors we had in our precious photograph. I added our message in a message box provided by the company and I found that I was able to create a card in just a few minutes.

I ordered forty cards and I was surprised by how affordable they were. I saved a lot of time and energy and I got the personal results I was looking for with the professional quality that only a photo processing center could provide. In the many years I have sent holiday cards to friends and family, this was the first card that got strong responses from my loved ones. I am glad that I was able to create a card that will be cherished by friends and family for years to come.
